Home is where the heart resides.
Sweet Home is a collection of expressions inspired by the West African culture and traditions transported over oceans and throughout generations to the people of black Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. When I think of home, I laze in the memories of family gatherings, walks to the Village Library, community block parties, Tuesday piano lessons, the dogs of my White neighbors and .…peace.
The very essence of home is captured throughout every expression of this collection. Home is its foundation.
Home is where the journey began.
